Under the endless sky
Deon Rubi, Lex Pott, Jonathan Nesci, and Jonathan Gonzalez
Giovanni Beltran is pleased to present Under The Endless Sky, a group exhibition focused on gallery quality outdoor furniture and objects. The exhibition which brings together Deon Rubi, Lex Pott, Jonathan Nesci and Jonathan Gonzalez is interested in this mostly unexplored niche segment of furniture design and object making. Collector quality outdoor furniture has largely been overlooked. Design/Miami, Miami, offers a unique opportunity to present something remarkably akin to its location and sense of place, with each designer producing completely new work to address this wildly interesting typology.
In presenting Under The Endless Sky, Giovanni Beltran pushes beyond the boundaries of the conventional fair booth by creating a series of immersive 180 degree digital environments designed by all four artists. Each space looks to create unique habitats, facilitating a real time understanding of the works presented and push the imagination of spectators and collectors. As an exhibition, the work will be presented in a constantly changing digital context; allowing for each new viewing of the booth to be a totally fresh experience. From the desert retreat to the ocean side villa, each environment will be rigorously conceived, designed and rendered Jonathan Gonzalez and Office GA to instigate a conversation on context and the tension between the virtual and the real.
